New Student Residential Guide
Congratulations On Your Acceptance To Trinity College!
Welcome to the Trinity Community! You are joining over 1,900 residential students in a living-learning environment located in the center of an exciting urban community. On this page, you and your family will find information about living on campus.
Living at Trinity College — A Bantam Beginner’s Guide
We work with students to meet their needs on campus by creating the environment in our residential communities that will be most conducive to their overall success, both academically and socially.
During the summer, incoming first-year students are asked to complete a residential survey so they can be placed in one of our residential communities. The survey allows students to give us information about their personal habits, environmental preferences and special needs so we can determine a good fit for a housing assignment.
Transfer students will be in communication with Susan Salisbury, Director of housing operations, regarding their housing assignments.
Once assignments are provided to all students, no room changes will be considered until two weeks after classes begin. This allows students the time needed to begin developing a positive and healthy relationship with their roommate(s) and floormates.
Residential Communities
First-year students are assigned to live in one of the following residential communities: Cook A, Elton, Jackson, Jones, Funston, Smith, & Trinity. All first-year communities are mixed gender, though some floors are single gendered. All shared bathrooms are single-gender unless otherwise designated. Most first-year buildings have community lounges with kitchens.
Upper-year students are assigned to live in one of seventeen residential communities: CCLC, Clemens, Cook B&C, Crescent Street Townhouses, North Campus, Goodwin-Woodward, Hansen, High Rise, Jarvis, Northam Towers, Stowe, Summit East, Summit North, Summit South, Vernon Place, & Ogilby.
Room Furnishings: Each bedroom has an extra-long twin bed frame and mattress, desk, chair, dresser, and a wardrobe or closet space.
Community Mentors: With the exception of the Crescent Street Townhouses, each residential community has a Resident Advisor(s) [RA], Community Advisor(s) [CA], and/ or a P.R.I.D.E. Leader(s), who are upper year student leaders that work to develop a sense of healthy responsibility and respect towards others.
The Bantam Network Residential Learning Community Staff
Our Residential Learning Coordinators (RLCs), are full-time professional staff members who live on campus and oversee the residential communities. The RLCs guide, supervise, and train our residential student staff.
Students are encouraged to seek additional support through the extended Bantam Network Team, which helps students navigate their Trinity experience from matriculation to graduation.
