Seating and Tickets
Trinity’s Commencement ceremony is held outdoors on the Main Quad, rain or shine.
All Commencement guests are asked to be seated by 10:30 a.m. as the processional begins at 10:50 a.m. Commencement seating will open at 9:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Any signs placed on seats prior to 9:00 a.m. will be removed.
Tickets
Graduates can invite an unlimited number of guests; there are no tickets required and there is ample seating for general audiences.
In the event of extreme weather conditions that threaten personal safety (such as a severe thunderstorm), the Commencement ceremony may be held in the Koeppel Community Sports Center (175 New Britain Avenue). In the unlikely event that the ceremony must be held indoors, seating will be limited to two guest tickets per graduate. Extreme weather tickets will be distributed to degree candidates at Grad Fest, Monday, May 13. IDP, master’s, spring semester study away, and December completers are welcome to attend Grad Fest but are not required to do so; their extreme weather tickets will be mailed to their preferred address.
The following on-campus locations will be open for additional guests to view a livestream of the ceremony:
Boyer Auditorium, Jacob Life Sciences Center
Cinestudio, Clement Chemistry Building
Goodwin Theater, Austin Arts Center
McCook Auditorium, McCook Academic Building
Washington Room, Mather Hall
