This Instruction Menu outlines different possibilities from essential research skills to specialized workshops that faculty may incorporate into their courses. We also have a set of examples of real-life collaborations and workshops at Trinity so that you may see what has been done in the past and is possible for the future.

Essential Research Skills
These workshops and activities cover a core group of skills used in academic research from first-year seminars through graduate work. They may include: an introduction to the services, resources and support in Trinity’s library, exploration of library databases and the research process, formulation of topics, search terms, search strategies, and evaluation, and citation of research sources.
Specialized Research Skills
Specialized workshops build upon essential skills and provide students with an opportunity take a closer look at ways to develop skills and strategies to critically read, analyze and synthesize the complexity of information that they encounter. Workshops may also address how overall student wellness helps them maintain a balance between academic work and personal well-being through examinations of time and stress management.
