Trinity is a member of eduroam (educational roaming), a secure, world-wide wireless access service developed for the international research and educational community.

Visitors to Trinity from participating institutions can connect to eduroam using their home institution’s login credentials. Join the eduroam network that appears in your wireless networks. Access to Trinity and home institution resources may be restricted. Contact your home institution if you have difficulty logging on.

Trinity faculty, staff and students can connect to eduroam and have the same experience. If you are traveling or studying abroad, you may access wireless at any participating eduroam institution. Please note that you must logon the first time here on Trinity’s campus eduroam wifi before you may use eduroam at other institutions.

Connecting Chromebooks to eduroam

Chromebooks cannot connect to eduroam automatically, but must be manually set up instead:

  1. From the WiFi menu, select eduroam
  2. In the eduroam window, click on the Configure button and enter the following settings:
    1. EAP Method: PEAP
    2. Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2
    3. Server CA Certificate: Do not check
    4. Identity: [email protected]
    5. Password: Your Trinity password
    6. Anonymous Identity:
    7. Check the box Save Identity and Password to save your credentials, and click the Connect button.
  3. Accept the eduroam certificate if you’re prompted.

FAQ

I upgraded my Android phone to OS 11 and now I’m having trouble connecting to eduroam.

Android released new features for private WiFi addresses and certificates. Before re-registering the device:

  1. Go to WiFi settings and confirm the following for eduroam:
    1. EAP method: PEAP
    2. Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    3. CA certificate: Use system certificates
    4. Online Certificate Status: Do Not Verify
    5. Domain: cc.a6128.com
    6. Identity: [email protected]
    7. Anonymous Identity:

I reset my password and can no longer connect to eduroam.

Mac Users

  1. Turn you wifi off.
  2. Search on your Mac for the Keychain Access app and open it.
  3. In the Keychain Access window, search for eduroam. Double click to open it.
  4. In the eduroam window, check the box Show password and edit your password.
  5. Note that you will be prompted to enter your Mac password to save these changes in your Mac settings (not your Trinity password).
  6. Close all windows and turn wifi on to reconnect to eduroam.

Windows Users

Student and Employee Personal Devices

  1. Right click on the eduroam wifi and select Forget network.
  2. Restart device. Go to Networks, select eduroam and connect. You will be prompted to enter your new password.

Employees With College-Issued Laptops

There is an additional step to reset the login Windows password (the password you enter when you turn the computer on).

If you are on campus:

  1. Turn off wifi. Turn off laptop, and connect it to an Ethernet cable. Turn computer on.
  2. Upon restart, enter your new password on login.
  3. You may unplug the Ethernet cable and turn off wifi. Follow the steps above to Forget the eduroam network and be prompted for your new password for wifi.

If you are off campus:

  1. After resetting your password, connect to VPN. Stay connected to VPN for several minutes until prompted to enter your new Windows password.
  2. Restart and your Windows login password should be changed to your new one.
  3. The next time you are back on campus, follow the steps above to Forget the eduroam network and be prompted for your new password for wifi.
