Visiting students have been an essential part of the program since its inception in 1970, and we welcome students from institutions all over the United States.

Eligibility:

  • CUMULATIVE GPA: 3.0

  • OPEN TO: Both Trinity and visiting students who are sophomores, juniors and first-semester seniors in good academic and social standing at their home institution.
  • PASSPORT: Students should have a valid passport in hand with an expiration date 6 months after the end date of the program at the time they apply to the program. If a student does not have a valid passport in hand, they should have already submitted a passport application and requested expedited service.
    • Students should have their valid passport in hand by the program commitment date (March 15th, 2025).

Italian Immigration Requirements:

After students are committed to the Rome Campus they will work with the Rome Adviser to apply for and obtain an Italian study visa (This is not needed for students with a valid passport issued by a country in the Schengen Area). Below are a few important visa requirements to be aware of early.

  • Trinity College offers students a Visa Batch process. Students will be provided with more information about this process after they are accepted. It is HIGHLY recommended that students participate in the Visa Batch process (if eligible).
  • Students must have a valid passport in hand by March 15th, 2025.
  • Students will NOT have access to their passport while their visa is being processed. Students should not book international travel between April 2025 – August 2025.
  • The Italian Government requires students have sufficient funds for the duration of their time in Italy. Students must have a personal checking account. The required funds available in that account fluctuates but historically it is recommended that students have at least $5,500 in the account by early March 2025. If this is not possible, please contact the Rome Campus Adviser to determine alternative options.
  • Students must have a valid state ID. International students will work with the Rome Campus Adviser if they do not have this.
  • It is important that the students name on all documents submitted for the Italian visa match the students legal name on their passport.
